Music Inside, the latest album from MIDNITE SNAXXX, tilts whatever fans thought they knew ‘bout Snaxxx on a thrilling edge. Bluntly, this new album, the band’s third, is the most eclectic recording they’ve ever produced. While their expert blurring of punk and powerful pop is still very much at the forefront, several willful steps into new directions yield something a lot more adventurous and skillful than expected.

Recorded in Los Angeles with DIE GROUP guru Eric Big Arm at the controls, Music Inside captures Snaxxx at their most absorbing: the guitar interplay is dramatically increased, the rhythms strikingly more diverse and the songwriting infinitely more substantive. The album is rooted in frustration and personal/political anger, adding reality and action to the expected revelry and punky coolness. “Lights Out” is exactly the sort of furious take that the band has been after for so long and, paired with a moment like “Out Of Control”, recalls the bleakest moments of classic LA punk. “She Don’t Want That” is another departure, one inspired in by classic UK post-punk and modern danceable DIY in equal measure. “Disconnected” bubbles out from a hyper-freaked angle, whereas “Cyborg” takes a series of sharp turns at high speed — both tunes providing further evidence of Midnite Snaxxx’s highly-nuanced take on punk sounds, even within the framework of sub-90 second chargers.

Over the course of the last decade, the identity of MIDNITE SNAXXX has contorted a few times over. Too punk for garage turkeys, too pop for the spikey set, too trad’ for the freaks. Yet at the end of the day, it’s always been Midnite Snaxxx — their own sound, one built collectively and assembled with direct devotion to the music inside. It’s never sounded better.

Tracklist: Music Inside, Baby, Lights Out, She Don’t Want That, 12 o’ Clock, Gold Chains, Disconnected, Cyborg, I Just Need Myself, Out of Control, Phased Out, Not Normal

Slovenly Recordings is super gassed to present the way gone fourth footlong from globe-trotting New Zealanders THE CAVEMEN! These four refined neanderdudes have belted out yet another crunching set called “Night After Night” that documents their collective daily doses of drinkin, fightin’, and summa dat good good luvvin’. Check the lead-off single “Don’t Know Why” for a rare glimpse of their sensitive sides. It’s so damn cute it’ll make you stick your finger down your throat. But don’t get used to it… they’re back to riffin ‘n’ rollin’’ but hard with that GO! sound you dig so much on “Can’t Resist” and beltin’ out their familiar violent chug on “Knife Fight.” It’s another disasterbatin’ session for the books, gang, so dig in and chow down!

Tracklist: Snakeskin, Boyfriend, Don’t Know Why, Can’t Resist, Night After Night, Belgian Holiday, Slave, Guess I Know It’s True, Knife Fight, Are You Lonely?, Got My Eye On You, 18 & on P, Death Will Never Change

The three obnoxious jack-offs known as PUPPY AND THE HAND JOBS are back with another crude EP of filth ridden, barely listenable / tolerable punk called “I Hate Everything,” and with 7 songs this time around, that’s only a buck a track in as many inches. WHAT A FUCKIN BARGAIN. Never before in the history of recorded music has it been so cheap and effortless to be insulted and assaulted with a swift kick in the genitals by “songs” with titles like “Cocksucker” and “Rocker Hag.” But even a band of total degenerate creeps like this can still muster a touch of class here and there: enter one-time SUN CITY GIRLS collaborator Eddy Detroit who penned the shitty little ditty “Plan 9” – a catchy track that will have you singing along like a dope before Puppy threatens your puny, worthless existence with “Predator.” WARNING: the actual record cover for this release isn’t nearly as polite as the digital artwork. You’ll be reaching for the dull pencil it was drawn with and stabbing your eyes out upon first glance.

Tracklist: I Hate Everything, Cocksucker, I’m a Beat Off, Plan 9, Predator, Rocker Hag, That’s Bullshit
