The
Scurvy
Bastards began in 1999 as an impromptu "all are welcome"
party-crashing experience in Carson City, Nevada. They foiled other
peoples drinking attempts with "sea-shanties" played
on accordion, a banjo, pots, pans, and guitars. All this and a growling
Capn.

SCURVY BASTARDS
"Battle Born" LP/CD
|
"Battle Born” is the debut full-length from Scurvy Bastards who began in 1999 as an impromptu "all are welcome" party-crashing experience in Carson City, Nevada. They foiled other peoples’ drinking attempts with "sea-shanties" played on accordion, a banjo, pots, pans,
guitars. All this and a growling Cap’n. Eventually, the switch was made
to incorporate a rhythm section, and song arrangements came together shortly thereafter. The Bastards’ debut single, the "Polaris" 7', was released in the summer of 2002 on Slovenly Recordings and is now out-of-print.
To date, Scurvy Bastards have played extensively in the western U.S., Opening up shows for Pere Ubu and Wesley Wills, among others. Their first fullU.S. Tour will begin in April 2003. RIYL: The Pogues, Swingin' Utters, early (Rough Trade-era) Camper Van Beethoven
