Lo-Lite
spits swamp gas for some five years now. During these years they sweated
and stank on a lot of stages in and outside Holland . This Dutch two-man
band, excelling in an original mix of raw stompin' blues and a high-octane
punky rock tops the cream of the crap. A slithering slideguitar, some
maniac vocals and pounding drums make a surprisingly heavy live sound.
Lo-Lite absolutely hasn't the tinny sound one might expect from such
a small band. Though bare boned primitive, the songs carefully evade
quite some silly rock 'n roll cliché's, we're not talking copycats
here, but the real HOW-HOW-HOW-HOW boogie chillin' thing.
Fresh
back from a tour of Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, and Germany, LO-LITE
plans to continue touring throughout the summer, including crossing the
pond for a 2-week west coast tour, their first outside of Europe.
Before Sidekicks (2002), Lo-Lite released two albums, Basics (1997) and
Comics (1999), some singles and some contributions to compilation albums
and also appeared in a couple of broadcastings for Dutch national radio.

"Basics" LP

We’d love to tell you that this LP is Lo-Lite’s best yet, but it just so happens that it’s their 1st, long lost album! What we have here is monster album of slide/ fuzz guitar driven Dutch blues-punk from 1997. With the original CD being long-sold-out-of-print, this will be a welcome release for collectors, especially considering the deserved death of the compact disc.
So what made us decide to release this dusty artifact 13 years after the fact? It’s simple: this is Lo-Lite’s LEAST accessible LP (read: stripped down and raw!), which is just the way we like it. This collection of songs shows the band at their most wicked, devilish caterwauling weirdness. Not yet devoted 100% to the blues-punk they are renowned for, but not neglecting it either, this LP contains scorching fuzz busting punk rock jams dripping with satanic howling, not to mention the instant familiarity that any great record should possess.
Graced with a bitchin’ sleeve based on their first demo from 1995, and containing a brand new motherfucker of a song called “Hellbound,” this album deserves a spot in the racks with the best of the broken blues garage punk psychosis in any collection.

The 3rd amazing album from this Dutch two-man-band, excelling in an original mix of raw stompin' blues and high-octane punk rock. A slithering slide guitar, some manic vocals, and pounding drums make for a surprisingly heavy sound. A must-have for any fan of trashed-out blues punk. [Slovenly Recordings]

LO-LITE / NIXON NOW
split 7-inch
|
A great single, with LO-LITE contributing two tracks: "Starters," and "Bourbon Style." I don't know much about NIXON NOW, but they mix well with LO-LITE to make a fine trashblues single.
